Olivia Turns Three!

This was the first year Olivia had some thoughts on how she would like to celebrate her birthday. She very much wanted to have a 'mermaid party'. Her actual birthday was earlier in the month. In the end she's had a total of three celebrations. One on her actual birthday, a second with her class (and some yummy chocolate cupcakes), and then a third time - the actual party this past Saturday. We celebrated with family and friends. It was a great mermaid month.

Today, I was "Lexi".

While grabbing a much needed latte this morning, the Starbuck's barista decided I was "Lexi". I have to admit I felt a little sassier today, being Lexi.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

We received around a foot of snow mid December. Olivia was sick when it snowed in January of '09, so this was her big opportunity to get out there and see what snow is really like - up close and personal. Needless to say - she loved it!

Decorate Tree, check!

While Patrick was attempting to untangle the white lights - he stopped to take a few pictures of Olivia obviously amazed by them!

Get a tree, check!

This was actually our second attempt at purchasing a tree this year. Our first attempt landed us stranded in the Bank of America parking lot before actually making it to the tree lot. Uncle Richie saved the day! With the use of jumper cables we were able to make it home. A new battery and some heroic efforts on Paddy's part we were able to regroup and pick out a tree a couple days later.

Visit Santa, check!

Gabe and Olivia went for their annual trip to see Santa, followed by our tradition of eating out that night as a family. Apparently Gabe had taught Olivia to respond to Santa's question of "and what would you like for Christmas" with the response of "chickens!" Guess we'll see what Santa brings Livie this year...
